This is what you are putting in your body when you drink chocolate syrup from the store in your milk. If you have been around me you know how I am all about the food I put in my families bodies. So another one of my quest is to feed my family healthy foods. Thanks to my good friend I tried my own syrup recipe and it is wonderful and here is my ingredient list. Cocoa, sugar, water, salt, and vanilla. You tell me which you would rather be giving your kids. I have been trying to rid my family of partially hydrogenated oils and hydrogenated oils. Whats so bad about that? Why dont you go and type it in google and read all about it. Well what has hydrogenated oils? Try almost everything anymore. Oreos? yes. Goldfish crackers? yes. The wonderful fast food places? They are loaded. Use Shortening? Yes that is all hydrogenated oils. So take it or leave it, use it or not, but I am trying my best to rid of family's diet of all these I can. Do I still eat some, yes or have a fit if someone gives my child an oreo, no I do not, or do I never go to a fast food restaurant, sure sometimes just as a treat, but I try to do as much as I can to keep there diet as free of them as possible. So do I not give my children cookies, yes I do, but I make it all my homemade stuff and you know what, it taste even better. It just takes a little more work on your part, but the benefits are great. Keep this in mind when you are shopping. The less ingredients the better. Go look at butter, real butter. Whats in it? Cream, thats it. So lets just say the baking isle is my favorite one because I am making lots of stuff from scratch, and saving money all the same. Looked at lays chips lately. Yes I do spend the xtra money for them because the plain chips ingredients are just potatoes, salt, and they are fried in sunflower oil. Compare that next time you are at the store to whats in the others, sure they are .50 cheaper, but at what cost? Can you do this and not spend a fortune, well I am doing it so if we can on our budget, you can most def do it to. I will try to write more info and some things we have been doing to change our diet, but right now my children have gotten quiet so I better go check and see, lol! have a great day everyone!!
